Getting to know: Treana Peake

What is the point of being given this life if I don't try
to do something remarkable with it? - Treana Peake

Obakki is a luxury Vancouver brand, that is built on more than just style: with a successful clothing line and charity the Obakki Foundation - Treana Peake has combined her love of fashion and philanthropy. Peake's belief when you shop local, it will lead to a global impact. At 38, Peake founded the edgy luxe clothing line in 2005 as a way to create opportunities for the talented but often ignored creatives working in the Canadian fashion industry. Proving to be business savvy by keeping volume in check and wholesale all operating under the same roof, she gas maintained excellent sell-through rates. Her reward has been 50% to 60% growth each season since 2009. Obakki has plenty of international buzz - coverage in UK Vogue, UK InStyle, and WWD. Some of the celebrities who love Obakki is Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Hudson, Audrina Patridge and Kelly Rutherford.

What inspires Treana Peake?
Peake finds inspiration in things that are real and in moments, interactions or places that move her. If she doesn't feel it, then she is not inspired. Many of her inspirations come from her field work, for example standing in the middle of a cattle camp in South Sudan or dancing around a clean water with a community in a remote village.

How to Wear: Stripes

Stripes have become a wardrobe staple for spring and summer. There are so many different ways you can wear the trend, and below you show you some of the ways.

The model is wearing Marc Cain stripe tank, Marc Cain stripe skirt, and Marc Cain white denim jacket. The fabric is so comfortable, we have a feeling you will be living in this outfit. Perfect for running around the city, playing with your children, or relaxing at the cottage.

Wearing head to toe stripes isn't your thing, no problem you can introduce the trend to your spring/summer wardrobe in smaller doses - such as a stripe cardigan or blazer. Both of these looks are work appropriate. The model is wearing head to toe Iris.

Instead of wearing black with stripes, you can never go wrong with red!

Keeping your entire look black and white is a real chic way to wear stripes.

Casually Chic

Below are more pictures from our Spring 2013 Fashion Show which happened last Thursday, and the theme was "Fashionable at Every Age". Dressing casual doesn't always have to be the same look, here at Fisher & Company we like to call it dressing "casually chic" and below are different options on how to obtain the look.

Designers to look for at Fisher & Company: Marc Cain, Elizabeth and James, rag & bone, J Brand, ByLyse, Helmut Lang, James Perse, IRO, Eileen Fisher, and MICHAEL Michael Kors.

A military inspired jacket mixed with soft fabrics and a nude flatform. Remember a jacket that has structured will always give you shape, especially when wearing it with soft pants, like the harem style.

To tone down colour denim, pair it with earthy tones.

Don't shy away from white during warm weather! White looks brilliant paired with brights or pastel shades. Perfect look for those lazy summer afternoons!

Want to add a little glam to your casual attire? Team a bold blouse, and a tailored blazer to your slim denim.
