So what were some of the major trends we saw last night - Black was huge on the red carpet, but we especially loved Cate Blanchett black sheer and lace gown, and of course Julianna Margulies black and gold dress was an absolute stunner. Other key trends we saw last night was of course sequins, and tons of metallic. Another classic trend that was huge on the red carpet was black and white. Fitted and mermaid shapes were definitely a number one choice. However there was one dress that stood out and it was Lupita Nyongo wearing a Ralph Lauren red cape dress. The colour red was absolutely breathtaking especially amongst a sea of black dresses. Yes there were many women who chose to wear colour last night, but none of them stood close to Lupita Nyongo choice.
